Rethinking Design: Let’s Start Here

︎ Project Type: Curatorial/Editorial Magazine Contribution
︎ Partner: CLOAKROOM Magazine
︎ Year: 2021
︎ Project Feeling: Expansive, Borderless

One of the best parts about the growing design community on social media is the opportunity to build relationships with designers all over the world, incorporating the universal and local identities of emerging designers into our overall vision for design.

We were tapped by CLOAKROOM Magazine (founded by editors of Wallpaper* Magazine) to curate a visual editorial of 10 of our favorite up and coming designers working across the globe. We worked with the CLOAKROOM team to craft photo collages and text that communicated a new vision of the design community: one driven by interdisciplinary thinking, diversity, and the hum of creative energy.

Pink Essay is a creative studio & platform re-designing design culture. We make experiences + exhibitions + archives, synthesizing the digital and physical.

We believe that good design is democratic, accessible, antiracist, sustainable and collaborative.

Design culture is on the move: people are excited and ready to see what we can make when we believe in the power of objects as tools of human growth and community connection.

We’re here to make connections, tell stories, and build a new design culture.
