Are you a designer? Why or why not?

We consider ourselves designers yes, but are entirely more convinced by the term creators or artists, purely because of the fact that these terms usually imply less restrictions in their definitions, and we like to have as much freedom as possible while developing ideas.

One word to describe your take on design:
Humor

The last thing you made:

A ceramic lamp inspired by the shape and use of an old Zoetrope

The next thing you want to make:

We’re terribly excited about using blown glass as a material for future projects and very excited to make a fishbowl by trying out different ways to tweak the process of blowing glass.

A designed object you adore:

TP-1 by Dieter Rams

TP-1

A designed object you can’t stand the sight of:
Norman doors

A moment of pure creative joy:

Especially because of the fact that we are two members of a studio, we find pure creative joy when the ideas we discuss and develop click for the both of us, both conceptually and physically. When developing new projects, we spend the bulk of the time talking about the idea and trying to shape it into something we're both into—there’s always a sweet spot of balance that we both agree on and normally it gives us a lot of joy.

When we say “designing the future,” what comes to mind?

Designing a better present. By creating an outline to guide and support the further development of a society that can carry on successfully and sustainably into the future, taking the necessary steps to assure sustainability of a concept since its inception will usually future-proof it and set a precedent for analogous future creators.

If you could show your work to anyone in the world, who would it be?

Tyler the creator. He has been an inspiration for our process in many ways. Ever since the start of his career, he has been trying to encourage and support young creators through his platform, and we have found great inspiration in his work, words and unbelievably organic way to shift the media through which he expresses his vision.

Your aesthetic embodied as a...

Your *grail*: if you could own one iconic design work, what would it be?

What’s next for you?
For now just keeping up with our solo show we just opened in Mexico City and developing new projects for future shows this year.
