Guapo Sport Tee and Cap

Are you a designer? Why or why not?
YUP, I am a designer.  I design because I believe we have the power to change our reality through the things we create. plus, working on projects with people I like is just my ultimate safe place.

One word to describe your take on design:

The last thing you made:
I just dropped a new Guapo Sport Logo tee in my website

The next thing you want to make:
Well I want to make a lifesize finished version of the GUAPO ottoman im developing.

Guapo Rockers

A designed object you adore:
I absolutely love my yeezy foam runners.

A designed object you can’t stand the sight of:
MINIVANS need to be innovated because they aresuper practical for families, it would be dope if they looked cleaner.

A moment of pure creative joy:
During my daughters sleep routine, there are 3 stuffed animals that have little voices and say good night to her and we have a whole little moment together where I can see her eyes light up as she believes they are real and she puts them to bed ... that moment is absolute creative joy.

When we say “designing the future,” what comes to mind?
Designing the future requires a religion, like faith, that the objects and systems and experiences we make can shape the world around us. when I hear designing the future, for me its like a verse or a prayer.

If you could show your work to anyone in the world, who would it be?

Your aesthetic embodied as a...

charcoal with guapo yellow accents (its the contrast for me)

maybe like a waxed canvas that’s been lightly sanded for a bit of grit

Your *grail*: if you could own one iconic design work, what would it be?
I want a De Sede DS-600 sectional, but I’d reupholster it in like charcoal denim with guapo yellow stitching.

What’s next for you?
working on a "soft"ware update for the GUAPO Rocker V1 and trynna knock out this ottomon v1. A showcase of my work thus far before the end of the year would be sick. Lemme manifest that real quick. #theshapeswemaketheshapeswetake

Pink Essay is a creative studio & platform re-designing design culture. We make experiences + exhibitions + archives, synthesizing the digital and physical.

We believe that good design is democratic, accessible, antiracist, sustainable and collaborative.

Design culture is on the move: people are excited and ready to see what we can make when we believe in the power of objects as tools of human growth and community connection.

We’re here to make connections, tell stories, and build a new design culture.
